A girl invites her best friend to her family's mysterious overseas estate for the holidays. When a casual remark threatens to ruin their friendship, she decides to offer her friend her entire inheritance from her wealthy grandfather. As they discover more about where that legacy came from, they begin to question each other's motives and wrestle with the differences between them. The historical and personal grievances they uncover raise questions about the complexities of redemption and the risks involved in seeking it. The play is the second collaboration between playwright Anna Leader and director Richard Twyman, also Artistic Director of English Touring Theatre, whose Macbeth was presented at the Théâtres de la Ville last season. It is also the second commission to Leader by the Théâtres de la Ville, following the short play Deliver Us, as part of the Connection project during the pandemic.
