The large hall of the Schluechthaus will once again be transformed into a large book fair on Sunday, October 20, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

To this end, the City of Luxembourg is launching a call for participation from all interested persons who would like to propose their read and unread books for this event.

The book exchange is presented as an ecological and economical alternative to buying new books and particularly values second-hand books. The principle for participating is simple: simply drop off the books you want to get rid of at the Schluechthaus on one of the following dates:

- Friday October 11, 2024 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
- Saturday October 12, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In exchange, you will receive a voucher worth up to five euros, depending on the number of books deposited, to be used at the book sale at the Schluechthaus on Sunday, October 20, 2024. All proceeds from the sales will be donated to the charity “Ile aux clowns”.

In order to maintain the quality of the books offered at the same high level during the second edition of the book exchange as in 2023, the donated works must have the following qualities:

- Be relevant to the current times / timeless
- Be well bound and without loose pages
- Do not have any stains
- Do not present too many highlighters or written notes
- Not having bad odors

Please note that the book exchange does not accept textbooks, language resources, dictionaries, encyclopedias, magazines, catalogs or travel guides. Books from other libraries or self-service book cabinets will also not be offered for sale.
