Tosca - Melodrama in three acts
In Rome in 1800, the painter Mario Cavaradossi comes to the aid of a political prisoner on the run, wanted by Scarpia, the terrifying chief of police, a false devotee without scruples. Coveting the painter's mistress, the singer Floria Tosca, Scarpia will manipulate her to try to catch the prisoner, lose Cavaradossi and possess Floria... Love, jealousy, plots, cruelty, all the ingredients are combined in this emblematic work by Puccini, who also gives us one of the most beautiful portraits of women in the lyrical repertoire.
