Collecting art today is becoming increasingly difficult, especially for young collectors. Art prices are often high, and the market is becoming increasingly speculative. It requires not only in-depth knowledge of the field but also significant financial resources. Lab by MAI limited edition was launched with the idea of creating a more democratic and accessible approach to collect contemporary art.
Launched in Luxembourg in 2023, Lab is a new conception of the artist's book or artwork as a multiple. Designed as a box containing various artistic media (leporello, photos, cards, books…), each limited edition with thirty signed copies is conceptualized by the artist in collaboration with Claire and Paul di Felice and with the contribution of an excellent shooter, engraver, and binder.
From the artworks contained in the box, collectors can create their own exhibition setup or simply present and handle the objects in the box. The intervention will offer a cross-view between artists, editors, and collectors on limited edition and multiple art.
