Subtile invited 17 artists to create a still life inspired by their own vision, with a dominant theme of yellow - evoking light, purity, gold, or even the divine. All disciplines are represented, with a diverse and extraordinary creativity brought together by this collective: painting, photography, sculpture, ceramics, paper, textile, metal... a vibrant mix of luminous, simple and poetic emotions awaits you from November 21 to December 1.
It is a subject close to my heart, depicting scenes from life that invite us to imagine a home, a family, fleeting moments - simple, but meaningful.
Basically, still life paintings and drawings usually depict everyday objects, whether natural or man-made. While anything inanimate can be a valid subject for a still life, certain objects have often been depicted in the history of still life. These objects often play a symbolic role or have a special meaning, such as natural objects: fruits, flowers, other plants, feathers, rocks and stones, shells, skulls and bones, or man-made objects: books, vases, glassware, pots, jewelry, coins, tools, candy, toys.
Some artists began experimenting with new forms of abstraction, making still life a favored genre that allowed them to play with various arrangements of textures, shapes, and colors. Among the first to begin abstracting still life scenes were Paul Cézanne, Vincent van Gogh, and Paul Gauguin.
