Join us on December 5 at 8:00 p.m. at KINOLER to discover Dany Cage during this special screening in the presence of François Baldassare, screenwriter and director, and Tessy Fritz, producer.

Synopsis:

This film traces the birth, life and death of a psychedelic rock club in the heart of Luxembourg City at the end of the 1960s. This legendary venue, "Dany Cage", existed for barely two and a half years, but it left its mark on the minds of its contemporaries; it accelerated the emancipation of a youth that aspired to greater freedom. The testimonial film is constructed from a series of interviews collected from 18 witnesses of the time. Their words are illustrated by archives from Luxembourg and elsewhere, and punctuated by moments of fiction. It offers a unique perspective on Luxembourg society at the turn of the 1970s.

The film also shows how music could be decisive in this process of emancipation; it places the small story within the big one: it is also the time of the Vietnam War, of Summer of Love, of May 68, of Woodstock…
