Joël EGLOFF reveals in his latest novel, Ces Féroces soldats, the poignant story of his father, forcibly conscripted into the Wehrmacht, like so many Alsace-Lorraine residents during World War II. Accompanied by his son Léo EGLOFF, a promising guitarist, they offer us an intimate musical reading between memory and transmission. From baroque to contemporary repertoire, the son’s music highlights the father’s text about his father: a poignant mise-en-abîme and allegory of familial bonds facing the wounds of History. A striking experience, between emotions and memories.
