Mohamed Najem jazz concert and conference (Humming Home)
Humming Home is a series of events that aim to examine how different cultures, community groups and individuals use sound, music and silence to tell their stories.
What do music and history have in common? Can sound tell us more about the past? What role does the voice play in this context? And silence? Does it speak too? Does the voice imply a certain mastery of history? How are sounds and their absence reflected in our political and cultural memory of the past?
