To kick off 2025, the idea was to highlight another technique, sculpture through 3 personalities who touch us with their authenticity.

AUGUSTO ANTUNES

Augusto Antunes, a Quercusian artist of Portuguese origin, has been involved in sculpture since he was 20 years old. His training as a welder first led him to metal, but a few years later, he discovered Jaumont stone with Michel Mongey in Briey. Music is often present in his creations, and Augusto also conveys this vibration during his workshops in Roncourt every Tuesday afternoon, behind the town hall.

ROLAND GONZALEZ

Roland Gonzalez, a well-known self-taught artist among the people of Rombas, needs no introduction. His works displayed in the city showcase the different materials he has been skillfully manipulating (metal, Jaumont stone) for nearly 15 years. His garden in Vitry-sur-Orne, a true open-air museum that can be visited by appointment, houses many of his creations inspired by events around him (peace, pollution, humanity). Because his mind is curious, he now explores 3D printing. Here, you can discover colorful and light works that immerse us in a new skill.

GABY SALOMON

A must-see figure in the local art world, Gaby Salomon has created many works in wood, stone, plaster, metal (mainly round iron) since his first tiki sculpture made in 1970 during his military service in Tahiti. This passion will never leave this retired steelworker who is also a great fan of Polnareff. He has received numerous awards, and his works are displayed in Rodemack, Hagondange, Gandrange, Marange-Silvange, at the Freistroff castle, and even in the Czech Republic (residency with Sylvain Divo). Following health issues, he has been less active in recent years, but we will be delighted to see this strong man again on this occasion, who still passionately leads a workshop every Wednesday morning at the Tremery Rural Center "Les Saules."
