The Kooperative Grossstadt eG was founded in 2015 by 16 people who, starting from a critical position on the conditions and results of housing construction in Munich, joined forces with the aim of "doing better": each KOOGRO project was to contribute to a networked and lively neighbourhood, focus on ambitious architecture, implement forms of community and solidarity living and achieve sustainable housing standards.
Since then, the cooperative has completed two residential projects — San Riemo and Freihampton — and two more projects are currently in planning.
