Two women take on the comic books of Liv Strömquist, an essential feminist comic book author who provokes as much enthusiasm as controversy and leaves no one indifferent. Consumers of dating apps, yoga, and social media, these two friends explain to us, through pop culture and the popularization of intersectional feminist theories, how the advent of capitalism and the consumer society have influenced the way we love. Together, the two women offer a humorous and uncompromising look at the power dynamics between women and men that we consider natural—like the idea that men advocate independence and women want men to commit more. The evening A Redder Rose confronts the audience with the following questions: Why do 85% of women have a better self-esteem after a breakup, compared to 35% of men? What is serial monogamy? Do dating apps herald a return to marriages of convenience? And what connection does all of this have with yoga? With the consulting and wellness industry?
