Collections/révélations. Art moderne et contemporain
After several years of renovation work and an impromptu exhibition of works by Maxim Kantor, the fourth floor of the museum once again gives pride of place to our vast collection of modern and contemporary art, covering a wide spectrum of mediums (sculpture, painting , photography and video installation).
Organized thematically, the new exhibition seeks to draw parallels between works from distinct eras and genres, while paying particular attention to color, shapes and patterns. The result is a fun and associative exploration of our collection, designed to appeal to a wide audience.
In addition to the most popular works such as Portrait of Laure Flé (1898) by van Rysselberghe, Landscape of Cannes at Twilight (1960) by Picasso and Piazza d'Italia (1970) by Chirico, the presentation will also include a large number of new acquisitions from the last four years, exhibited for the very first time at the museum.
