After their album Virages (Hiéroglyphes, Les bateaux), Pépite, the essential Parisian independent pop duo, is composing new songs. A mix of nostalgia and new horizons, Pépite dares to explore new sounds, with a resolutely modern sound, while preserving the timeless beauty of their compositions. The first title they reveal, “L'Été” talks about a summer spent in boredom and waiting. Composed by the sea, Thomas (Pépite's singer) wrote the lyrics on a pop and colorful production by Édouard (producer and musician). Formed by Thomas and Édouard in 2015, the duo Pépite has established itself as a must-see on the French pop scene. They signed with microqlima in 2016 and released their first EP "Les Bateaux" followed by "Renaissance" in 2017 which enjoyed resounding success. Their first album "Virages" confirms their musical richness in 2019. Pépite creates a sensitive universe, navigating between wonder and torpor. Pépite explores universal themes such as nostalgia and regret, but also hope and love, as in their latest EP "Rêve Réalité" in 2021. Thomas writes and sings while Edouard brings the choirs and innovative sounds. Pépite seduces with a delicate and colorful pop.
With Romain Muller, French song wanders. It mixes with synthpop sounds and electronic rhythms, is sometimes tinged with disco accents, with one idea in mind: to make sensitive hearts dance. His hushed voice carries as much dreamy ballads with catchy refrains as pieces with catchy riffs and more intense energy. He builds a modern and nuanced pop in which atmospheric elegance in the French touch style rubs shoulders with the sensuality and groove of neo-disco influences. The words are simple but carefully chosen for titles conceived as a succession of snapshots in which moments of life, childhood memories and nocturnal ramblings are intertwined.
