Having worked with big names of the 20th century (Thomas Adès, Pierre Boulez, Helmut Lachenmann...), the Diotima Quartet now has a solid international reputation. The ensemble willingly mixes repertoire and contemporary creation within programs with varied aesthetics. With this concert, Diotima highlights different facets of modernity, from the harmonic sumptuousness of Debussy's Impressionist Quartet to the biting and ethereal sounds of Britten's Quartet No. 1. Diotima will perform a creation by Japanese composer Misato Mochizuki whose ultramodern style boldly combines Western techniques and Asian resonances.
