What child wouldn't dream of being Pierre, Who braves fear and his grandfather's warnings to capture The wolf Who sowed terror? The cruel animal ends up in the zoo, at the end of Prokofiev's enduring tale where each character is embodied by a different instrument. This same zoo gives its title to Luciano Berio's mischievous wind quintet, which in 2025 would have celebrated its centenary. Among the residents, we find farm animals dancing a frantic farandole, a melancholy fawn, mice cackling... as well as tomcats, among whom Pierre's elegant and mysterious cat may be hiding. Who knows ?
