At the age of 16, Dory Stobbe fell into the clutches of the Moon cult of Korean Sun Myung Moon during her training. She gave up everything and lived for more than 20 years as a volunteer worker in the service of the leader of the cult. In 1982, she married a man from Luxembourg, whom the leader of the cult had chosen for her, in a mass wedding of 2,000 couples.
With her current understanding, her autobiography gives us a glimpse into the world of religious fanaticism, a shocking testimony of exploitation and oppression. She recounts with brutal honesty the addiction and manipulation and the difficult process of liberation from the cult's grip. It is only when her children are grown that she finds the path to freedom and independence again.
