Omar Castillo Alfaro is a Mexican artist, selected at the Salon de Montrouge 2023 and currently a resident at Casa Velázquez. For the Centre Pompidou-Metz's Young Public Workshop, he has chosen to mix artisanal know-how from Mexican culture with contemporary images in a colorful universe reminiscent of the artist Katharina Grosse exhibited in the Grande Nef. Using a multitude of feathers of all colors, children are invited to create miniature images that will reveal a new bestiary of figures. In doing so, they are introduced to the art of feather craft reminiscent of the feather schools that existed in Mexico until the 17th century.
