ALFREDO RODRIGUEZ TRIO
The Grammy®-nominated artist mirrors the talents of legendary jazz pianists Keith Jarrett, Thelonious Monk and Art Tatum. Born in Cuba and trained at Havana's austere classical conservatories, Rodríguez's captivating art is as much influenced by Bach and Stravinsky as by his Cuban and jazz roots. Discovered by Quincy Jones at the 2006 Montreux Jazz Festival, Rodríguez has established himself as the embodiment of jazz and limitless improvisation.
His mastery of the art has earned him frequent appearances on prestigious stages around the world, including the Playboy Jazz Festival at the Hollywood Bowl, the Montreux Jazz Festival, the North Sea Jazz Festival, Jazz in Marciac, Umbria Jazz and Jazz à Vienne. In addition, Rodríguez was nominated for a 2015 Grammy® in the “Best Arrangement, Instrumental or A Cappella” category for the track “Guantanamera” from his 2014 release “The Invasion Parade”.

To enter the world of Boris Schmidt is first and foremost to enter a velvet case where every note is light, subtle, round and whole. Behind an apparent nonchalance, there's a carefully measured rigor and precision that gives the ensemble a feeling of harmony and quiet strength.
By enlarging the line-up with Ana Rocha on vocals and Martin Salemi on piano, the artist opens up a wider range of arrangements. In the continuity of the last opus, come and discover these original compositions enriched with new rhythms and sound colors.
