During its creation, Carmen left a significant mark on the audience of the Opéra Comique with its boldness, disrupting the norms of the genre. Inspired by this creative power to transcend boundaries, Olivier Desbordes, the artistic director and founder of the Opéra Éclaté company, envisions a new version of this famous work, blending Carmen's music to better resonate with the universal fate of a woman too free to survive.
