Norway is an unexpected but extraordinary breeding ground
of jazz musicians, as demonstrated by the high-flying rhythm section formed by Ingebrigt Håker Flaten and Paal Nilssen-Love. Familiar with free improvisations, they could not have found a better companion than the American saxophonist David Murray, whose dual lineage between avant-garde and tradition brings a highly personal touch to his playing without gratuitous virtuosity.
