As part of the Villerupt Italian Festival, these two films will be screened at the Kufa (one at 6:30 p.m., one at 8:30 p.m.) on November 8.

6:30 PM SCREENING: LUCE
Somewhere in the south of Italy, far from the tourist sites and outside the sunny seasons, a village like so many others. This is where a lonely young woman (Marianna Fontana) lives, her days spent between her small apartment and the leather factory where she works. She is simple but hardly smiley. Suddenly her life comes alive when during a party she sees a drone flying. She imagines that with a device of this kind she could make a phone call to her father who is in prison. When her phone rings, she hears only a breathing. Then, another call, whose voice she does not recognize. Could it be her father or someone who is playing tricks on her? The calls follow one another more and more regularly, an obsession for her who neglects her work to answer, gets reprimanded and demoted. But hope - or an illusion - is stronger than everything.

8:30 PM SCREENING: ENEA**
Anna (Rosa Palasciano) is a young woman who is not quite so young, quite disoriented, she only gets along well with her brother Angelo (Valerio Di Benedetto), who is also discredited by their mother and older brother. One evening, while she is waiting for a bus that does not come, she meets Cristi (Yeva Sai), a young Ukrainian woman, also without a way to get home. Two young men in a car offer to drive them home, they accept but refuse their advances. The next evening, Anna voluntarily drives back to the bus stop where Cristi is waiting. She drives her home. Cristi, who is really called Nadia, is very reserved and defensive, the complete opposite of Anna, but a beautiful friendship gradually develops between the two women, destined not to last, because Nadia wants to return to her country where the war is raging.
