Guillermo Guiz
After six seasons on France Inter collecting royalties, Guillermo Guiz presents, in this third show, a mixed assessment of his political engagement. In his forties, soft but lucid, he talks about money, comfort, and commitment. He has progressive values too, that's not the problem, but they are still in their original packaging, on a dedicated shelf, like figurines. "What's the use of having values if they are not used?" he asks in The Formidable Temporary Social Ascension of G. Verstraeten, a show about the complacency that numbs, the freedom of tone, and the society in upheaval. Because, paradoxically, even though it's often said that we can't say anything anymore, according to the Belgian comedian, we are more than ever in the golden age of stand-up. And it would be a shame not to laugh about it.
