Clémence Lollia Hilaire is invited to occupy the Degrés Est space, dedicated to artists linked to the Grand Est, on a proposal by Fanny Gonella, director of Frac Lorraine. Clémence Lollia Hilaire is an artist living and working in Amsterdam. Her practice explores the porosity of categories often perceived and experienced as hermetic. This manifests in the form of videos, sculptures, and sound works, in which references to historical, fantastical, and non-human characters coexist with personal experience narratives. Her interest in observation and the creation of ontological shifts is rooted in the Franco-Caribbean context, from which she originates.
