As part of Artweek 2024, we are pleased to invite you to a stimulating talk that explores the philosophical intricacies of Kay Walkowiak’s exhibition, “Traces of Time”. Thomas Macho, esteemed philosopher and cultural historian, in conversation with the eminent Luxembourg journalist Kerstin Thalau, will explore the themes of time, history and cultural narratives woven into Walkowiak’s work.

The discussion will focus on several questions: What is the potential of art to capture the essence of time? How can art thematize and stop time, document it and open new perspectives? How can these artistic efforts be preserved and made accessible to future generations, in museums or archives? What are the approaches of art history and cultural philosophy in this context? This is the perfect moment for a dialogue between an artist, a curator and a philosopher of culture!
