This April, Mark Eitzel will tour Europe for the first time in eight years. In addition to playing his old American Music Club classics, Mark will also be performing songs from his previous solo albums and a new vinyl EP.
Mark Eitzel has released over 17 albums with American Music Club and as a solo artist. The Guardian has called him the greatest living American lyricist, and Rolling Stone awarded him Songwriter of the Year in 1992.
Formed in 1983, American Music Club released seven classic albums before disbanding in 1995. The band reformed in 2004 for two full-length albums, Love Songs for Patriots and The Golden Age. Mark Eitzel then released Don't Be A Stranger in 2012 on Décor/Merge, followed by his strongest solo album since the '90s with Hey Mr. Ferryman in 2017.
Mark has spent much of the last seven years composing music for playwright Simon Stephens and working on the American Music Club reissues, scheduled for release in 2024.
