In keeping with the themes addressed in the Dis-placed exhibition, the Konschthal is offering a screening of the short film and documentary Fantoomwijk by Ravi Sandberg.
Rotterdam's Tweebosbuurt has turned into a ghost town. After the residents were uprooted to make way for luxury homes, all that remains is ruins and rubble. Fantoomwijk gives voice to the residents, who remember their own neighbourhood that was erased from the city. Using different filming styles such as infrared and drone shots, the viewer is constantly shifting between opposing perspectives, between the system and those affected by it. The film examines how perceptions shape policies and the resulting impact on those affected. Filmmaker Ravi Sandberg won the RTM Pitch Prize at IFFR 2022, which enabled him to make this film.
