A one-man show written, directed, and performed by Olivier Sauton. It's 2023. The illustrious Molière sits in paradise, and he's bored. Yes, he who spent his life entertaining and performing now enjoys an eternity where time seems long, so long... No audience, no theater: what a tragedy for the king of comedy!
When suddenly, God appears! And warns him: the great playwright is threatened with expulsion on the pretext that France is forgetting the language of Molière! So, if Jean Baptiste Poquelin wants to keep his place among the eternals and not fall into oblivion, nothingness, the darkness, he must take on the following mission: to be propelled incognito into France in 2023, to assume the role of a French teacher at the lycée... Molière in... Saint Denis... and restore the taste for the French language to the youth of the twenty-first century. Cultural shocks guaranteed!
Here is our man facing a class of unruly teenagers, discovering (not without dread) their language, their codes, their references far removed from the alexandrines of the author of the Misanthrope! However, Molière is determined to fulfill his task, certainly out of a desire to stay in the good graces of posterity, but even more out of duty, out of a passion for transmission. Because, what could be more beautiful than teaching others?
