Atelier: Minimal Soundscapes
As part of the Black Air exhibition, dive into the art of subtle sounds during this auditory workshop, inspired by Aldo Tambellini's work Black Air. Using recording tools, participants will capture subtle, calm, and intimate sounds—such as the rustling of fabric, whispered words, ASMR, and ambient textures—to create a layered "sound poem" that embodies shadow and silence. By paying particular attention to these moments of calm, participants will discover how sound can evoke presence beyond the absence of manifest noise. Karma Catena is a cultural analysis specialist and passionate musician. Leading her project C'est Karma for six years, the 22-year-old woman has gained substantial expertise in musical creation and listening practices. In 2024, she obtained a degree in literary and cultural analysis from the University of Amsterdam, focusing on exploring connections between electronic music, sound synthesis, and the (de)construction of gender in the post-modern social, cultural, and political context.
