Why donate blood?
Every year, thanks to blood donation, 1 million patients are treated: a woman who lost a lot of blood during childbirth, a man with cancer undergoing chemotherapy treatment... The needs of patients are constant: 10,000 donations are needed every day in France. Each donation is precious because it saves 3 lives!
To donate blood, you must:
- Be between 18 and 70 years old
- Weigh at least 50kg
- Be recognized as fit during the interview prior to donation
- Have a photo ID
- Eat before and hydrate well throughout the course
The steps of blood donation:
- Welcome and registration
- Questionnaire and interview prior to donation
- The gift (10 min)
- A+ break (20 min - snack)
From registration to A+ break, allow between 45 minutes and 1 hour. Take 1 hour to save 3 lives!
