Racine's tragedy in Alexandrines is presented by L'Autre Scène.
"A king, two sons, a woman... Mithridates, the sovereign of the East, tired by years of war against Rome, sees his empire decline and his power slip away from him. On the battlefield, his death is announced and the rumor sets the palace ablaze: Xipharès and Pharnaces, his two sons, fight to win the heart of the one who was promised the throne, Monime. But the King's boat docks at the port: Mithridates is not dead. Then begins, with rhymes and bodies, an internal struggle between the three men on the shores of the Black Sea."
