Amidst a blend of optimism and pessimism, between pop art and surrealism, Düsseldorf artist Marcus GÜNTHER places human beings at the core of his work. His creations originate from his audiovisual experiences, such as films, photos, reports, words, music, and dreams. His images are born from the selection and combination of these multiple perceptions, including tragedy, comedy, consent, and revolt, the seemingly mundane and the unusual. His works always reflect his own inner journey and display bodies, lines, and surfaces from dreamlike and imaginary worlds. Marcus Günther intertwines dream and reality and combines apparent contradictions. He invites the viewer on a journey through the labyrinth of his thoughts, where the aim is not arrival but the discovery itself.
