"Patridiot" is inspired by a performance for Esch's cultural night by the Finestra collective asbl. A young Luxembourgish actress hopes to find out, in a puzzle of memories, how many discriminatory automatisms and racist reflexes exist in a society that brandishes its diversity as an asset as soon as xenophobia is mentioned. Between an "avant-garde racist" uncle and a "tolerant enough to tolerate intolerance" aunt, she finds support from a German-Turkish actor struggling with roles proposed by a white author. This play explores the concepts of homeland and identity, questioned by writer and journalist Jeff Schinker, revealing that the high proportion of foreigners in Luxembourg is not synonymous with openness. Between satire and critical reflection on Luxembourg, "Patridiot" is a political work that combines gravity with humor.
