Having made its first tour with Johann Sebastian Bach's L'Offrande musicale, the Ricercar Consort presents an equally precious offering to the Philharmonie's audience in this evening entirely dedicated to 17th-century British music for the viol. Conducted from the instrument by its founder and artistic director Philippe Pierlot, six gambists and an organist explore this little-known repertoire, illustrating through their ensemble's name - Ricercar, meaning 'to seek' - a search for lost time now rediscovered.
