Accompanied by his best friend Miyata, Sanu returns to Izu, a Japanese seaside resort where he met Nagi, who became his wife five years earlier. Overcome with grief and nostalgia for the place, Sanu sets out to find a red cap that Nagi once lost. Meanwhile, Miyata is interested in a personal development workshop called "Super Happy Forever." With a ghostly ambiance and melancholic seaside landscapes, Super Happy Forever stands out for its delightful sense of derision and offset, portraying rare masculinities in cinema as well as a deconstructed friendship.
