Meeting with Loïc Demey, poet and Olivier Toussaint, photographer, for Noir rivière
The editions of La Paulette and Jean-Christophe Dietrich, you know their work. Olivier Toussaint as well, with his book "20% profils ouvriers". Just like Loïc Demey, editor and poet from Cheyne... From his first text "Je, d'un accident ou d'amour" to "Frelon" the latest, including "Aux amours", a novel published by Buchet Chastel. Knowing these three are together is excellent news especially as it leads to a wonderful book. "Noir rivière" is striking. Some books captivate us, it's pointless to resist... and here, we love everything! The care given to the cover and layout, the photos, their color, their framing... like an invitation to wander which the text also answers. We glide from one to the other, letting ourselves be carried, as if we were moving from one space to another, sometimes surprised by the current, between these spaces of poetry and freedom, in the realm of the landscape. Emotion seizes us, envelops us... listen to it, the song of the Noir rivière: "YOU SAY the river is a winding path. Not a long calm river. You say life meanders, loops and cascades. You say your downpours, your thunder and some storms. You say the rain man and fair-weather child. You say proud streams make poor rivers. You enjoy reinventing proverbs. You say 'drache' instead of 'shower' just like you'd smile at your father."
