A city woman, who is vacationing in a small village, seduces a farmer and convinces him to kill his wife. But when it comes to drowning the wife in the lake, the farmer does not bring himself to do so and his wife runs away, catching a passing tram. The farmer follows her, and the tram takes the two spouses to the city. There, gradually, they find each other again, discovering laughter and celebration in the urban atmosphere.
