They are witness to the construction of Europe, as Rameau’s ‘opera for peace’ – a disingenuously naive little musical marvel – shows. They are representative of the popular culture in which Janáček steep himself to define his unique style, indefinable and yet emblematic of Czech music. They are the pillars of instrumental music, like that shaped by the magnificent and audacious fingers of Beethoven. They are the foundations on which the OCL has built its artistic project for 50 years and which they share with you for some unforgettable moments.
