Some comedians are too talkative. Some are visual thinkers. Some have artistic and farting talent in their toolbox.
If your words needed visuals... If your visuals needed framing... If you're funny and artistic, a painter, a DIY enthusiast, or drawn to the world of comics... I can't wait to share this workshop with you.
Over three hours, we will examine sequential art, slapstick humor in children's literature, and how comic characters are portrayed through a selection of classic paintings, comics, and graphic novels.
This workshop, which is open to anyone who identifies as a feminist, regardless of gender, isn't just an overly enthusiastic information dump from Tamar Levi.
In addition to these paintings and publications, you will have the opportunity to share the type of jokes you would like to see, and then brainstorm together what format might work best.
If there is anything I can share with you from my experience as an award-winning illustrator and children's theater producer, I WILL.
NOTE this workshop may contain traces of: stick figures and radical transparency.
What should I bring with me?
I like to keep it portable and non-digital, to keep it dynamic, so bring a sketchbook, your weapon of choice (e.g. markers, ink pens, pencils), and some jokes you'd like to see in the form of paintings, memes, picture books, or comics.
