A king, two sons, a woman... Mithridates, sovereign of the East, sees his empire decline and his power slip away. On the battlefield against Rome, his death is announced: Xiphares and Pharnaces, his two sons, then clash to win the heart of Monime, destined for the throne. But the king's ship docks at the harbor: Mithridates is not dead. Thus begins, with words and actions, an internal struggle among the three men on the shores of the Black Sea.
