The Mad Toads - Theater
The toad is subject to metamorphosis: in ponds, the tadpole becomes a frog; in fairy tales, the animal becomes a Prince Charming. But what other metamorphosis is involved in the play that Mélody Mourey created and presented in May 2018 in Paris, where it has already been performed 350 times?
Under a funny and enigmatic title unfolds the true story of two young Polish doctors and friends who, in 1940, saved thousands of lives thanks to the fruit of their imagination: their medical trickery and their audacious comedy saved the inhabitants of Rozwadow from the deportation planned by the Nazis. The author, who is also a journalist, discovered the crazy story of Eugene Lazowski and his friend Stanislaw Matulewicz while writing an article on the great inventions made in Poland. The stratagem they imagined seemed sufficiently dramatic and funny at the same time to make it a slightly crazy historical comedy.
Come and witness the research of Anastazy who, in New York in the 90s, sets out on the trail of his grandfather in order to shed light on the events that allowed a toad, a simple country doctor, to resist the German eagle in the middle of the Second World War...
