Your program for National Day
Your program for National Day
For three centuries now, it has been customary in Luxembourg to celebrate the birthday of its sovereign. Since 1961, it was decided to fix the date of the "Groussherzogsgebuertsdag" (bravo to you if you can pronounce it on the first try!), aka National Day, on June 23. For this weekend, the city has an amazing program planned for you. 🥳

THE BEGINNING OF THE FESTIVITIES
June 22
The National Day begins at 4 PM the day before, with the solemn changing of the guard in front of the Grand Ducal Palace.
At nightfall, don't miss the Fakelzuch - the torchlight procession. It's impossible to miss with some 2,500 participants, illuminating the capital with their torches along a half-kilometer parade route.
Then head to the city center, where the city dons its finest light attire with the fireworks display, launched from the Adolphe Bridge, lighting up the sky with a thousand lights. 🎆
