Why do just one exhibition when you can do two? And if we had to sum up for you in a few words the two new exhibitions at the Musée national d'histoire naturelle focusing on geological heritage and animals in just a few words, we'd probably say: multi-sensory, surprising and captivating. Come on, we'll take you on a tour 🪨🪲

Luxembourg on the Rocks exhibition
📍 Musée national d’histoire naturelle - 2nd floor
📅 From October 11th to March 16th 2025
If you think rocks are just immobile things with no history, Luxembourg on the Rocks will prove you wrong! The exhibition plunges you into the geological history of Luxembourg, and it's far from just a history-geography lesson. Here, science, culture and history come together to give you a real experience!
And yes, the exhibition awakened all our senses 👀 We were able to touch and feel the different textures of the rocks, do a blind water tasting (beware, tap water was hidden in the tasting...), discover our musical talent with a stone instrument or observe the little living creatures who live in a cave... 🕸️
But that's not all! We discovered a whole raft of super-interesting information! From the architecture of this small country, to the mineral notes in wine, to the rocky Luxembourg of yesteryear, we can tell you that you'll be unbeatable on the subject (it's a shame there isn't a ‘rocks’ category in Trivial Pursuit...) And we owe it all to the exhibition's two exceptional curators, who provide a fascinating scientific perspective 📚

Tönende Tiere exhibition
📍Musée national d’histoire naturelle - 2nd floor
📅 From October 12th to January 5th 2025
Ready to embark on a safari like no other? Welcome to the colourful world of Tönende Tiere! Just imagine: life-size animal sculptures (and more) made from recycled odds and ends by Matthias Garff, an artist who knows how to transform an old saucepan into an owl or a telephone dial into a frog 🐸
We fell in love with the peacock-suitcase!
To accompany these little beasts, DJ and nature lover (of course) Dominik Eulberg takes you on a journey into his world of sound by reproducing and revisiting the sounds of animals.
In short, between the recycled sculptures and the animal beats, you're sure to have a great experience of the beauty and diversity of nature. A vibrant hotspot of biodiversity for you and your little ones to discover!
